Deputy PM inspects construction of North-South expressway project's Mai Son - National Highway 45 section

Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho, and leaders of the Ninh Binh provincial People's Committee and some related departments, sectors, and localities joined the working trip.

After making a field trip to the construction site of the Mai Son-National Highway 45 section and heard the contractors' report on the progress, Thanh spoke highly of the efforts of the investor, contractor and the entire political system of Ninh Binh in implementing the project.

The Mai Son - National Highway 45 sub-project running through Ninh Binh has a total length of 14.35 kilometres. To date, the construction and installment workload of road, bridge and tunnel have been carried out on schedule. 

Some works of the sub-project have been completed ahead of schedule. For example, Do mountain bridge has been completed at the beginning of April while 80 percent of  the construction and installment workload of Tam Diep tunnel connecting Thanh Hoa and Ninh Binh provinces has been accomplished.

Other issues relating to site clearance and material supplying have been resolved, thus enabling the project to be completed by the year-end.

The Deputy PM underlined that the North-South expressway is a key national project and asked ministries, sectors, localities to do their best to ensure the progress and quality of the work. The People's Committee of Ninh Binh needs to continue assisting the contractors and creating favourable conditions for them during the process of construction, he said.

Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee pledged to coordinate with and support ministries, sectors, localities, investor and  contractors to accelerate the progress of the project, thus completing transport infrastructure synchronically and providing optimal conditions for socio-economic development of the country in general and Ninh Binh province in particular.
