After the pigs raised by Nguyen Xuan Hai in Bach Cu Hamlet, Ninh Khang Commune, Hoa Lu District, tested positive for ASF on March 3rd, Ninh Binh authority and relevant branches have implemented synchronic measures to prevent the outbreak of the disease.
Measures included setting up animal quarantine teams and building checkpoints to oversee the transportation of pigs, spraying disinfectants and sanitizers inside and outside the poultry farm, and conducting poultry vaccines.
Besides, localities have also enhanced communications to help pig breeders spot the disease, and inform to relevant agencies when African swine fever is suspected or confirmed either in their holdings or in wild boars. Pig breeders are advised not to hide outbreaks or sell, slaughter, consume or discard sick or dead pigs.
To date, no more case has been detected in Ninh Binh province.
During the working session, the Deputy Minister spoke highly of Ninh binh authority's effortsin preventing and controling of the ASF. The province needs to continue to implementing all above measures in the coming time.
He also asked the local Department of Trade and Commerce, and the Market Regulation Agent to collaborate with local authorities to strictly monitor the trade, dispatch and transport of pigs as well as set up 24-hour animal quarantine teams.
