Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism works with Ninh Binh on organization of National Tourism Year
Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Ha; Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc, and Vice Chairmen of the provincial People's Committee Tong Quang Thin and Tran Song Tung attended the working session.
The National Tourism Year 2021 with the theme "Hoa Lu - Thousand-year-old capital" includes a series of typical economic-social-cultural events of the tourism sector. Ninh Binh continued to be chosen as the host of the National Tourism Year 2021.
As planned, Ninh Binh will organise 11 main activities and 27 others, while two activities will be held by the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism. Twenty-seven provinces and cities nationwide had registered to organise 103 events in response to the National Tourism Year 2021. However, many activities have been cancelled, postponed or scaled down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the working session, participants discussed and came to agreement that activities of the National Tourism Year 2021 must ensure safety and effectiveness, thus creating momentum to revive the tourism industry.
Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Ha said that the launching of the National Tourism Year 2021 will be combined with the opening of Hoa Lu festival on April 20 (the 9th day of the third lunar month).
As there is a short time left, Ha expressed her wish that Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism would assist Ninh Binh in mapping out the content and disseminating information about the National Tourism Year 2021.
Concluding the working session, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Hung agreed with the province's plan to hold the opening ceremony of the National Tourism Year 2021 on April 20, with full rituals and festivities. The ministry will cooperate with Ninh Binh in organising the opening ceremony in safe and effective manner, he said.
The ministry will held seminars to seek ways to deal with obstacles faced by travel companies amid the pandemic, thus drawing more visitors to Ninh Binh, Hung stressed.
He also asked the ministry's agencies to boost the dissemination of information about the National Tourism Year 2021 and tourist destinations in Ninh Binh province.
