Defence Minister Ngo Xuan Lich makes working visit to Ninh Binh

He was briefed on the province's performance in 2017 by Secretary of the Ninh Binh Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh.

In 2017, the province achieved importants results, fulfilling all 17 goals set by the provincial People's Council.

The local economy recorded a growth rate of 7.95%. New-style rural developmenthas been boosted, with 20 more communes and one district having so far met the set new rural area criteria.

Services and tourism achieved sound development. The tourism sector welcomed over 7 million visitors in the year.

Social security and welfare have been paid attention while the material and spiritual life of the local people improved remarkedly, evidenced by the poverty rate going down to 4,25%. Socio-political stability, and national defense and security have been maintained.

In 2018, Ninh Binh strives to reach an economic growth rate of 8.21%, focussing on the quality of growth; accelerating industries and services sustainably, enhancing competiveness and bettering the business enviroment.

Ninh Binh set a goal of becoming an attractive tourist destination of Vietnam and worldwide.

Other goals are continually boosting the new rural area construction, ensuring social security, reducing poverty rate, and lifting the material and spiritual life of the local people.

Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich spoke highly of the achievements made by Ninh Binh authority and people. He expressed his belief that with its potential and advantages, Ninh Binh will harvest remarkable development in the time to come.

He sent New Year wishes to Ninh Binh authority and people.

The same day, General Lich and his delegation visited soldiers and officers of the provincial military command.
