The patient, named N.T.V from Thai Binh province, has been treated at the Ninh Binh General Hospital.
He is a student returning from the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Daegu city. The patient was brought to a military unit in Ninh Binh province for concentrated quarantine after entering Vietnam and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on March 7.
Then, he was transferred to the Ninh Binh General Hospital for treatment. His health has improved day by day. He had samples tested four times, in which the first two times showed positive results, while the two latest tests on March 14 and 16 showed negative for the coronavirus.
Based on the results of the two latest tests, the patient is eligible to be discharged from hospital under regulations of the Ministry of Health, Vice Director of the Ninh Binh General Hospital Chu Thi Giang said. After being discharged from the hospital, the patient will have to undergoing self-quarantine at home for 14 days, Giang added.
