Con Noi belongs to a coastal wetland eco-reserve in the Red River delta which also includes the Ramsar-Xuan Thuy National Park in Nam Dinh province, the Tien Hai wetland Natural Reserve in Thai Binh province. Kim Son has 18km of coast line, with rich ecological reserves covering over 105,000 hectares. It is also home to around 500 flora and fauna species, some listed in the World Red Book.
Con Noi is home to hundreds of flaura and fauna species
The area covers thousands of hectares of submerged forests, alluvial deposits and estuaries… The ecosystem diversity, which makes Kim Son coastal region an important buffer zone of the world's bio-sphere diverse coastal wetland zone of the Red River Delta, also provides favorable conditions for developing the tourism industry such as ecotourism, and tourism for creation and research. Surrounded by water, Con Noi is accessible ony by boat. With a large and shallow sloping beach, yellow sand, clear and blue sea waves, and fresh atmosphere, Con Noi is described as a pristine nature irresistible to visitors. Resolution No 15 of the Executive Board of the Ninh Binh provincial Party Committee (19th tenure) on economic development plan has defined the marine and tourism economy as a focus of Kim Son district which is striving to turn Con Noi in to a destination popular among visitors. Accordingly, a project on a national-level entertainment complex comprising of ecotourism, medical and therapy tourism, historical and cultural tourism, and religious tourism will be built in Con Noi. Besides, a shrine dedicated to Lac Long Quan and another to Au Co, the legendary foreparents of the Vietnamese nation, will be constructed in Con Noi and in Cuc Phuong National Park, respectively. The project covers an area of 4,155 hectares and it comprises hotels, restaurants, entertainment areas, religious areas, submerged forests, beach areas… Its construction will be completed by 2021. With the project and its huge potential of coastal area, Kim Son is sure to become a famous destination for visitors in the coming time.
