Attending the working session were Lao Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Phoxay Khaykhamphithoune, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu, and leaders of the Lao Embassy, among others.
Ngoc briefed the guests on the province's geopolitical situation and socio-economic development as well as relations between Ninh Binh and Lao localities.
In recent years, Ninh Binh has maintained a twinned relationship with Oudomxay province of Laos, and the two localities have constantly organised mutual visits and shared experiences in various fields. Besides, Ninh Binh and Lao localities share similarities so that these localities have cooperative opportunities in the future, Ngoc added.
In the time to come, Ninh Binh wants to connect with provinces and cities of foreign countries which boast heritages, especially nations in Southeast Asia, including Laos. Therefore, Ninh Binh hoped that the Lao Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs would support and accelerate Ninh Binh's idea, the Chairman said.
For his part, Lao Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Phoxay Khaykhamphithoune thanked Ninh Binh's leaders for their warm welcome and congratulated the province on its important achievements in recent years.
He briefed the outcomes of the 33rd annual meeting between the Vietnamese and Lao border delegations held in Ninh Binh city from December 25 to 27.
The Deputy Minister also wished that Ninh Binh will continue to reap greater achievements in the coming years.
