Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc on March 26 had a working session with a delegation from UNESCO, led by Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre Lazare Eloundou.

Speaking at the working session, Ngoc expressed his pleasure to receive the UNESCO delegation and informed his guests about Ninh Binh's efforts in preserving the World Cultural and Natural Heritage of Trang An, particularly in managing, protecting the ecological environment and biological diversity.
It has also paid due attention to raising local people and tourists' awareness of protecting the heritage.
Eloundou acknowledged and spoke highly of Ninh Binh's efforts in protecting the heritage in the past time. The management model of state-enterprise-community has helped preserve and promote Trang An's values and create livelihoods for local residents, he said.
Having thanked the host for his warm welcome and Eloundou stressed that Trang An is not only the pride of Ninh Binh and Vietnam, but also of the whole international community.
The two sides hoped that surveying, studying and cooperation would help boost the preservation work and promotion of sustainable values of Trang An.
At the same time, it would help Ninh Binh to well exploit potential of Trang An to serve the province's socio-economic development and ensure livelihoods for local residents.
Later, the delegation paid a visit to Bai Dinh pagoda.
Previously, they spent time on learning about the life of local residents and environment conditions in Trang An ecological tourism site.
