In Gia Vien district, Ngoc, who is also head of the provincial steering committee for natural disaster prevention and search and rescue, and his delegation checked the operation process of Cung Soi water pumping station, which has a total capacity of 28,000 cu.m per hour, serving water supply and drainage for over 460 ha of agricultural land and Gian Khau industrial park.
Inspecting Tan Hung sluice, a key work for natural disaster and flood prevention, and water supply for agricultural production in the three communes of Gia Hung, Lien Son and Gia Hoa, the delegation found that many items of the sluice are degrading.
In Nho Quan district, the delegation inspected construction progress of a project on upgrading Da Lai lake. Currently, the project's construction is halted and it is prepared to cope with the upcoming storm. They also paid a field trip to Yen Quang lake to check its dykes.
The Chairman spoke highly of the two districts' preparedness for the coming storm.
He asked local authorities and sectors to regularly get updates about the storm and subsequent rains and then promptly provide information to local administrations at all levels and people, especially those in isolate and remote areas, to have better response to the storm.
Ngoc requested local authorities to map out plans to drain off water in a bid to protect paddy fields and regularly inspect dykes and lakes to prevent floods, thus minimizing losses of human and property.Constantly inspects conditions of dam, sluices, flood control buildings and devises measures to prevent flooding, ensure the lives of locals and safety for their property.
