The East-West road project has a total length of 22.95 kilometers with total investment capital of 1,486 billion VND. It is designed to have four lanes while the section connecting the starting point with the intersection of the North-South expressway will have eight lanes.
The project's total capital investment has been adjusted to increase to over 1,913 billion VND under the provincial People's Council's Resolution No 91/NQ-HDND dated July 12, 2023 due to rising expenses for land compensation.
To date, localities have handed over 20.2 out of 22.9 kilometers of reclaimed land. Of which, Tam Diep city has completed site clearance while the mountainous district of Nho Quan handed over 13.64 out of 16.3 kilometers of land.
Construction of the road began in March 2022. The value of construction and installation was estimated to reach 75 billion VND to date.
Localities and contractors are striving to remove difficulties in an attempt to complete the project by the year end.
After examining the construction site, Ngoc asked related sectors to actively coordinate with localities to remove difficulties and hindrances related to site clearance.
He requested the Department of Planning and Investment to soon submit to the provincial People's Committee for signing a decision on the adjustment of the project with the goal of completing the project by the end of 2023.
The provincial People's Committee will prioritise allocating funds for the construction and installation of the project, Ngoc added.
