The People's Committee of Kim Son district, the provincial Department of Environment and Natural Resources and related units on June 12 launched a campaign to clean up the sea in Con Noi waters in response to the Vietnam Sea and Island Week and the World Ocean Day 2024.

At the launching ceremony, leaders of Kim Son district called on local agencies, sectors, units, administrations at all levels and people to well implement the Resolution No.11 dated June 26, 2022 of Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee's Standing Board on developing sea economy in Kim Son for the period 2022-2030, including protecting sea environment; disseminate information and well implement the Government's strategy on sustainable exploitation and use of maritime resources and protection of the maritime environment by 2030 with a vision until 2050, the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 and other legal documents related to environmental protection.
They were urged to giving priority to using friendly-environmental technologies and products; restricting the use of disposable plastic products; collecting and classifing garbage and plastic waste at source, especially in the district's coastal areas.
At the same time, it is necessary to enhance the management and control of sea environment pollution, and encourage safe and sustainable fishing.
Right after the launching ceremony, hundreds of cadres, soldiers, young people and local people collected waste and cleaned up the coastal area around Con Noi waters.
