Bright prospects for Vietnam- Australia trade
On the occasion, PM Dung said that since the formation of a strategic partnership in 2009, bilateral cooperation has been steadily advancing in all areas and affirmed Vietnam's policy of attaching high importance to fostering it.
He also applauded Australia's policy aimed at strengthening relations with Indian Oceania and Pacific countries, including Vietnam.
Governor-General Cosgrove in turn hailed the partnership and the past achievements in the Vietnam-Australia relations it ushered in, saying that PM Dung's visit would help to further elevate the strategic partnership to a higher level.
The strong development, particularly in economic and trade cooperation and similar views on regional security and political issues evidence the mutual trust and deep and stable development of the partnership between the two countries, Cosgrove said.
Near the conclusion of the meeting, PM Dung extended an invitation from State President Truong Tan Sang to pay an official visit to Vietnam to Governor-General Cosgrove, which was graciously accepted.
On the same day, the PM met with New South Wales Governor David Hurley and congratulated him on his state's achievements over recent years. He said New South Wales has numerous commercial advantages and great potential to capitalize on stronger cooperation with Vietnam.
He urged New South Wales to create a niche for businesses to cooperate and assist Vietnam businesses in seeking trade and investment opportunities.
