Senior local and industry officials attended the ceremony for the plant, which is the first of the Binh Dien company in the North.
Construction of the plant began in June, 2014, costing495 billion VND( 22 million USD). It finished after16 months.
The first stage will see the plant producing 200,000 tonnes of NPK fertilizer per year, and the capacity will be increased to 400,000 tonnes in the second phase.
The plant uses urea liquefied technologyas it is the most current advanced NPK production technology.
The Binh Dien Company is one of the NPKfertilizer makers with large-scale production and high turnover in Vietnam.
It has produced nearly 1 million tons of NPK fertilizer of various types annually, which were also exported to such countries as Thailand, Cambodia, Australia, the Republic of Korea, and Myanmar. Its revenues hit more than $ 500 million.
The Binh Dien plant in Ninh Binh will help its company supply the market with 1.5 million tonnes of high quality NPK a year when it fully operates.
Apart from contributing to the agricultural development of the countryin general and Ninh Binh province in particular, the plant generates about 200 jobs for local people.
