The work is part of a project on upgrading weak bridges and building new ones on national highways in the first phase, using loans from the Republic of Korean (RoK)'s Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF).
The project is constructed by a joint venture between Ilsung Construction Co., Ltd. of the Republic of Korea and Thang Long Company.
The project has total investment of nearly 361 billion VND (15.5 million USD), and is carried out within 24 months.
The main bridge has a total length of over 648 meters and is designed to have two lanes. The road leading to the bridge in Nam Dinh province is 890 meters while the other in Ninh Binh province is 1,700 meters long.
