The project is constructed by a joint venture between Ilsung Construction Co., Ltd. of the Republic of Korea and Thang Long Company.
The project has total investment of nearly 361 billion VND (15.5 million USD), and is carried out within 24 months.
The main bridge has a total length of over 648 meters and is designed to have two lanes. The road leading to the bridge in Nam Dinh province is 890 meters while the other in Ninh Binh province is 1,700 meters long.
A representative of the contractors said the toughest work is to handle the weak ground base serving the construction of the roads. This work took a long time to complete. The site clearance of the road in Ninh Binh saw difficulties due to some affected households haven't handed over cleared land to the contractors while the site clearance of road in Nam Dinh side had been prolonged due to removal of some technical works. Hence, the speed of construction has been lengthened.
To resolve these difficulties, the contractors have focused workforce and equipment to speed up construction. The contractors have set a target to complete the main bridge ahead of schedule.
As for the roads, the contractors are working hard to complete the road in Nam Dinh in May 2024 and the road in Ninh Binh in October 2024.
Once completed, the Ben Moi bridge will create a traffic axis connecting Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh's localities, thus creating a drive force for socio-economic development in these localities.
