A representatives of the project management board said the main bridge has to date basically completed and contractors are installing the lighting system.
As for the 900m-road leading to the bridge in Nam Dinh province has been filled with gravel and will be asphalted soon.
While the 1.6km road leading to the bridge in Ninh Binh province is being filled with gravel.
Total work volume reaches nearly 90%. With this speed of construction, the project is going to be completed in October as scheduled, the representative added.
The work is part of a project on upgrading weak bridges and building new ones on national highways in the first phase. It is situated on national highway 38B crossing over Day river and connecting Y Yen district of Nam Dinh province and Hoa Lu district of Ninh Binh province.
The project is constructed by a joint venture between the Ilsung Construction Co., Ltd. of the Republic of Korea and the Thang Long Company of Vietnam.
The project has total investment of nearly 361 billion VND (15.5 million USD).
The main bridge has a total length of over 648 meters and is designed to have two lanes. The roads leading to the bridge are 9 meters in width.
