The National Assembly set a 10% growth target for Vietnam's 2013 export revenue for a total of US$126 billion. However, the MoIT has calculated that the export revenue for the entire year will exceed the NA's target, reaching US$131 billion.
The statistics show that the national export revenue in the first nine months of this year was US$96.4 billion, up 15.7% against the same period in 2012. The processing industry has contributed nearly 70% of aggregate export revenue, bringing in US$67.2 billion, up 26.4% over the corresponding period last year.
According to the MoIT, export revenue will continue its upward trend in the remaining months of the year, based on the data collected in recent years.
To achieve the projected figures, the MoIT recommends that enterprises make the most of signed trade agreements and says the Government should take prompt action to ease difficulties to production and business activities.
The MoIT said that it will continue to conduct bilateral and multilateral negotiations to expand markets and boost export activities.
