After the first pigs detected with African swine fever (ASF) at a household in the Ninh Khang commune, Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh on March. Now, ASF is spreading 7 out of 8 districts in the province.
The lastest ASF-infected pig was detected at a household in Ninh My commune of Hoa Lu district on May.
The district authorities to guide local households to apply measures to detoxify their farms and supervise the epidemic's development for timely response.Local authorities have also moved to ban the slaughter of pigs at infected communes and set up quarantine checkpoints around the locality in order to prevent the epidemic from spreading further.
To support pig-farming households cull any infected pigs, the provincial People's Committee has decided to offer financial compensation to all impacted pig-farming households .
The communication on the ASF has been popularised to all people . The transport, slaughtering, and distribution of pork from the ASF-hit areas are under tight monitoring by competent agencies, while mass examinations of all pig farms in these communes will be launched.
Up to now, the epidemic has hit pigs in Ninh Binh province with total of 17.274 pigs in the 7 out of 8 districts in the province.
