Politburo member, Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC's Commission for Mass Mobilisation Truong Thi Mai visited the High Command of the Military Zone 7 and the Saigon New Port Corporation.
The Politburo member appreciated the achievements that Military Zone 7 has gained over the past years.
In addition to training in preparation for combat readiness, the Military Zone has closely coordinated with the mass mobilisation commissions in the provinces and cities in various activities, such as building new-style rural areas and aiding poor people and those affected by natural disasters, she added.
Meeting with the leaders and workers at the Saigon New Port Corporation, Politburo member Mai asked the corporation to continue to successfully fulfil its assigned tasks related to the economy and defence, as well as to build an all-people national defence posture, contributing to the country's renewal cause.
In the afternoon of the same day, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army hosted a meeting with the press agencies in the country.
Speaking at the event, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army Nguyen Trong Nghia highly valued the contributions made by the press agencies, both inside and outside the army, in communicating the military and defense missions, as well as defense foreign affairs over the past few years.
On the same day, the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic held a ceremony to mark the 73rd founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuan affirmed that over the past 73 years, under the ingenious leadership of the Party, the Vietnam People's Army has continuously developed, crushing invasive wars to provide a peaceful life for Vietnamese people, as well as firmly safeguarding national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Vietnamese Defence Attaché Colonel Cao Hung Trang highlighted the significance of the anniversary, as well as the glorious victories of the Vietnam People's Army, particularly during the two resistance wars against France and the US.
