2019 national karate champs opens in Ninh Binh

As many as around 300 athletes from 34 provinces and cities across the country are participating in the 29th National Karate Championships, which kicked off in the northern province of Ninh Binh on September 23.
During the event, co-organised by the Vietnam Karate Federation and the provincial Department of Culture and Sports , the athletes are competing in the different age groups.
The tournament comprises: individuals kumiite: male and female; team kumite - men and women; kata individual men; kata individual woman, of a different weight categories.
The tournament aims to promote the Karate movement among people. It also offers a chance for training boards to seek promising faces for their teams in preparation for the forthcoming sports events such as the coming SEA games, and ASIAD.
The event will run until Septemter 27.
